Introduction
Konnach Jam3iya ('we', 'our', or 'us') is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile application for managing savings circles (jamiya / tontine) and loans between people. Konnach Jam3iya requires no account and no sign-up, and it works entirely offline — your data stays on your device.
Information We Collect
Konnach Jam3iya operates entirely offline and locally on your device. The following information is stored locally on your device only:
- Savings circles you create (name, contribution amount, rhythm, start date, payout order)
- Members of those circles (names, phone numbers if you add them, shares held)
- Contributions, payments and payouts (amounts, dates, payment methods)
- Loans you record (the other party's name, amount, dates, notes)
- Photos of a paper or receipt you choose to attach to a loan
- The people book — names and phone numbers of the people in your circles and loans
- Application settings (language, theme, currency, calendar, reminder preferences, app lock)
All data is stored exclusively on your device in a local SQLite database and secure storage. We do not collect, transmit, or store any data on external servers or cloud services. We do not use analytics or tracking of any kind, and the application makes no network requests of its own.
Device Permissions
Konnach Jam3iya only requests permissions that power a feature you explicitly use, and everything they touch stays on your device:
Contacts
Used only to add members to a circle or a counterpart to a loan when you pick them from your address book. Your contacts are never uploaded — they stay on this device.
Camera & Photo Library
Used to take or attach a photo of a paper or receipt to a loan. Attached photos are stored locally with your data and are never transmitted.
Face ID / Biometrics
Used to unlock the app if you enable the app lock. Biometric data is handled entirely by your device's operating system — the app never sees or stores it.
Notifications
Reminders — before a contribution is due, on the due date, and when a payment is late — are local notifications scheduled on your device. No push-notification servers are involved.
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used exclusively to provide the core functionality of the application:
- Tracking who has paid into each round, who collects, and when
- Computing each member's balance, the pot, and the collection rate
- Tracking loans you gave or received, with no interest and no late fee
- Preparing WhatsApp reminder messages that you review and send yourself
- Generating PDF statements, debt acknowledgments, and shareable images on your device
- Storing your preferences and settings
We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose your information to any third parties. We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or any other commercial purposes. When you share a message, a document, an image, or a backup file, you choose the destination — nothing is shared automatically.
Data Security and Protection
We implement multiple layers of security to protect your financial data:
App Lock
You can lock the app with Face ID or your device passcode. The setting is stored on your device and never leaves it.
Local Storage
All data is stored in a local SQLite database on your device. This database is not accessible to other apps or external services.
No Network Transmission
Since the app operates offline, your data never leaves your device. There is no risk of data interception during transmission.
Backup & Restore
You can export your data as a single backup file at any time, and merge or restore it later. You choose where that file goes — we never receive a copy. We recommend keeping your device updated and using device-level security.
In-App Purchases
Konnach Jam3iya offers an optional Premium upgrade — a monthly or annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase — through Apple's in-app purchase system. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple; we never see or store your payment details. Your entitlement is verified through Apple's own systems and cached on your device so that Premium keeps working offline. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Data Retention and Deletion
Because all data lives on your device, you are in full control. You can edit or delete any record inside the app at any time, delete everything from the settings screen, and uninstalling the app permanently removes all of its data from your device. Backup files you exported remain wherever you saved them and are yours to keep or delete.
Children's Privacy
Konnach Jam3iya is a personal-finance tool intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and since the app collects no data on our servers, we hold no information about any user, child or adult.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
