Introduction
ResumAI ('we', 'our', or 'us') is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your resume content, profile photo, and subscription information when you use our mobile application to build and export résumés and CVs.
The short version: ResumAI is offline-first. No account is required, no resume content ever leaves your device, and we do not run any analytics or tracking on your personal data. The only information that touches an external system is your subscription receipt, which is handled by Apple or Google.
Information We Collect
ResumAI is designed with privacy in mind. We process the following categories of information — and only these:
- Resume Content: Everything you type into the app — personal information, work history, education, skills, projects, and certifications — is stored locally on your device only. We do not have access to this content and it never leaves your phone unless you explicitly export or share a PDF.
- Profile Photo: If you choose to add a profile picture to your résumé, we access the image you select from your photo library and embed it in the local resume file. The photo is not uploaded to any server.
- App Preferences: Settings such as your selected template, theme preference, and section ordering are stored locally on your device.
- Subscription Status: Your Pro subscription status is verified through Apple App Store or Google Play via RevenueCat, our subscription management provider. RevenueCat receives an anonymous device-generated identifier and the purchase receipt only. No resume content or personally identifying information is sent.
How We Use Your Information
- To render your résumé content into the template you selected for on-device preview and PDF export.
- To persist your work locally so you can close and reopen the app without losing anything you have typed.
- To validate Pro subscriptions and unlock premium templates.
- To generate a print-ready PDF via your device's native print pipeline. The PDF is created and stored locally; sharing it with a third-party app (email, cloud drive, messaging) is entirely under your control.
Photo Library Access
ResumAI requests permission to access your photo library only when you tap to add a profile picture to your résumé. We use the system-provided picker and access only the individual image you select. We never browse, scan, or upload your library in the background. If you deny photo access, the rest of the app continues to work — you simply cannot add a photo.
Data Security
We take your data security seriously. Your résumé content, saved drafts, exported PDFs, and preferences are stored locally on your device using the platform's secure storage APIs. This data never touches our servers. Communication with the App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat uses HTTPS encryption.
Third-Party Services
RevenueCat (Subscription Management)
We use RevenueCat to verify and manage Pro subscriptions. RevenueCat receives an anonymous device identifier and the purchase receipt from the App Store or Google Play. It does not receive your résumé content, name, email, or any other personal information from us.
Apple App Store / Google Play Billing
Pro subscriptions are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not have access to your payment information. All billing, renewals, and refunds are handled by the respective platform under its own privacy policy.
In-App Purchases
ResumAI offers a Pro subscription that unlocks premium templates and features. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. You can also restore prior purchases from within the app.
Data Retention
Your résumé content, profile photo, and app preferences remain on your device until you delete them individually or uninstall the app, at which point they are removed. Because none of this data is on our servers, we cannot recover it after deletion — please export important résumés before uninstalling.
Children's Privacy
Our app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Your Rights
Because all your ResumAI data is stored locally on your device, you are in full control. You can edit or delete any section, wipe your data, or uninstall the app to remove everything. For any other privacy-related requests, contact us at the address below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the app and on this page with an updated 'Last Updated' date.
